Alcatel-Lucent has announced the appointment of Richard Edet as country senior officer (CSO) in Nigeria

In an announcement made earlier this week, the French telecommunications firm revealed that Edet would also be taking on the responsibilities as the managing director for the West African country.

Edet will be responsible for taking the lead on strategic business directions and the management of daily operations, and will report to Amr K. El-Leithy, president of Alcatel-Lucent in the Middle East, Africa, Turkey & Azerbaijan.

El-Leithy said, “I am very pleased to welcome Richard in his new position in Alcatel-Lucent. His in-depth knowledge of the industry as well as an extensive experience in sales and operations will reinforce the company’s business and presence in Nigeria to help to meet the needs and requirements of our customers with best-in-class solutions and services.”

Edet has previously held key management positions in IT companies including SAP Africa, Cisco and Microsoft.
