Zimbabwe is set to host the Innovation Africa Digital (IAD) Summit that will be held at Victoria Falls on 14-16 April 2015

Cosmas Chigwamba, principal director at Ministry of Information and Communications Technology of Zimbabwe, said that IAD Summit will showcase the latest technologies, service offerings, policies and innovations supporting affordable connectivity.

“African connectivity is expensive in relation to income and in relation to global like for like price comparisons. Businesses and business people in Africa do not only want basic services, they want effective services at affordable rates and many of the solutions lie within the continent,” he added.

Chigwamba noted that the summit is expected to bring together over 400 high level delegates comprising ministers from the African continent and from abroad, investors, policy-makers, service providers, solution providers and major end users.

“The event proceedings will highlight opportunities for serious investment and will create a platform for business networking,” he said.

Countries that have confirmed to attend the summit include Angola, Afghanistan, Benin, Belgium, Botswana, Burundi, Central African Republic, Djibouti, DR Congo, Ethiopia, France, Germany, Ghana, Gabon, Côte d'Ivoire, Kenya, Liberia, Mali, Mozambique, Namibia, Niger, Nigeria, the Netherlands, Rwanda, Republic of Congo, Somalia, South Africa, Sudan, Sierra Leone, Switzerland, Tanzania, Uganda, the USA, the UK and Zambia.
