Hellofood allows customers to view local restaurants nearby and to choose from a variety of dishes for delivery and take-away in Africa

The app features menus, pictures as well as customer reviews and ratings of restaurants across Africa, Hellofood said. It also enables users to customise their meals by choosing, replacing or adding their preferred toppings.

Over the next six months, Hellofood is expected to receive 50 per cent of its orders from mobile devices, it said.

According to Hellofood, account holders can view their order history for convenient re-order processes.

"This is a big step forward for Hellofood as a mobile company. We’ve had massive demand for our mobile content from customers and major mobile partners including MTN, Tigo, Samsung and Nokia – and our gorgeous new app makes it even easier to discover and order food from the best restaurants in your area," said Joe Falter, CEO for Hellofood Africa.

Hellofood has a presence in Africa, including Nigeria, Morocco, Kenya, Ghana, Senegal and Côte d'Ivoire.
